Are You One In 4?

October 21, 2011 Posted by DJ

childHave YOU ever been one out of four. Maybe there are four Kids in Your Family. Possibly You were on a relay team. One out of Four is pretty special! However, to God You are extremely important! Do You know that God knows everything about You!

First of all He knows Your Name. I have worked places where the Boss did not know my name. God knows My Name! And, more importantly, He loves everything about You! Jeremiah 29:11 says that He has a Great Plan for You! But I digress.

In chapter 3 of Matthew we read about John. We call Him John the Baptist. He is known for baptizing people. Getting baptised makes a statement to Your Friends, Family and Acquaintances that You have changed. It says that You have decided to be serious about Your relationship with Jesus and His Father, God.
Well John was the cousin of Jesus. What is interesting about John is, His parents were older. They had pretty much given up on having children. Now back then, that was a very difficult thing to have happen to You. Women got their credibility because they had children. Man showed their strength by having children. So this was a very serious issue for families.

Our story is about being one-in-four. John was that special. There are only four families in the Bible where God sent them a message that they were going to have a child.

  • Abraham and Sarah were told that they would have Isaac.
  • Manoah and His Wife (the Bible does not mention Her name) were told they would have a Son. His name was Sampson
  • John’s parents (Zacharias and Elisabeth) were told they would have a son, and they would name Him John.
  • Of course Jesus.

So why is this so noteworthy? Even though Your parents probably did not get a visit from an Angel sent by God to tell them You were coming, to God You are very special. He is so serious about having a personal relationship with You that He sent His only Son, Jesus, to pay the just punishment (His death on the Cross) for us so we could, in fact have a personal relationship with the Creator of the Universe.

The Great News is after Jesus died on the Cross, three days later He rose from the dead. Because Jesus paid the debt of punishment for us, and more importantly rose from the dead, we can live forever with Him.

What is really amazing about that is, Jesus wants to start being Your Friend now. Before we die! He can help us. Help with our problems and the issues of life.

Jesus paid a very serious price so that we could be Friends with Him. Won’t You start today? Click Here.
